Bad Graffiti
I love good graffiti. Some of London’s artists are quite famous, like Banksy.
But there is such a thing as “too much of a good thing.” We visited Lecce in southern Italy. It has a beautiful old Roman central downtown. However, much of it was sullied by random tagging.
If the walls and doors weren’t bad enough, it’s on signs.
And even things that move! Why did they have to tag the trash cans?
The fastest way to make your town look dirty and unkempt is to allow it to be get all marked up by random graffiti. It really detracts from the appeal of ancient Roman architecture.
