Sunday Stroll
I was in Toronto on a cold Sunday morning and decided to walk to church. After Mass, I enjoyed lunch at a pub across the street aptly named The Village Idiot. How do you pass up a place like that with this on tap:
Upon leaving the public house, I decided to walk in down the street to Toronto’s premier mall, the Eaton Centre. From there, I noticed signs for PATH, an indoor route that leads all over the city. It even has an app. It was cold. Sounds like an adventure.
I was surprised how desolate the PATH was:
The app was barely helpful. It essentially provides a PDF of the overall route. I had to use these helpful directions:
It was actually pretty creepy on a Sunday. I didn’t see many people during my walk and all the shops were deserted.
I was heartened by the sight of my destination:
Eventually found the end of the route and was forced out onto the street. Here’s a map of the area.
I have to admit, walking indoors on a 20 below day is preferable to braving the elements. The route is probably more interesting on a work day, when all the shops and restaurants are open. I wonder, though, who goes underground to rent a car?
