Winter Blast

Humans are pretty resilient. We can pretty much adapt to anything Mother Nature throws at us. Even when winter comes, the days shorten, and the temperatures plummet, we can find ways to have fun and hang out with friends.

Sometimes it takes a bit of corporate sponsorship but it’s still fun. Well, I’m not sure the polar plunge is for everybody, though.

Wait – that doesn’t sound fun to me

Modern food trucks

The grilled cheese from the Nosh Pit Detroit food truck was unparalleled. Next time I see this green food truck around I’ll be sure to stop for another.

I found a Ford engineer showing off these vintage snow machines. He said the biggest customer was the US Postal Service.

Model T ice cutter

Before refrigeration ice cutters like that were used on the lakes to cut big slabs of ice to put in storage. During the summer those blocks would then be delivered to peoples houses to put in “ice boxes”, which were the precursor of modern day refrigerators. My grandmother always called it the ice box.

From the back that shield looked like the original one Captain America carried in The First Avenger.

The Winter Blast was fun. Tons of people were having a great time. Thanks to all the sponsors.
