Top Seven Reasons to Visit Newfoundland
Newfoundland is part of the official Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. I visited Labrador on a separate occasion that can be viewed here. The best way to get to Newfoundland from Detroit is to fly to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Once in Halifax, rent a car and drive to Sydney which is about a four hour drive. From Sydney, board the ferry for the six hour crossing to Port aux Basques, Newfoudland. Once in Newfoundland, beware of moose. They are everywhere. We drove up the west coast and back. Â From there, we did a circle tour of the main part of the island going east along the north shore, then south, and west along the south shore. Â I think you will enjoy the island greatly. Â The people are very friendly, the laidback feel is intoxicating, and fresh seafood is abundant.
