Umm Qais
Jordan is full of Roman sites within a short drive of Amman. Around 70 miles north, along the Syrian border, is a site called Umm Quais. It is far less known than Petra, meaning there weren’t many tourists when we visited in December.
The city is in the hills overlooking the Sea of Galilee.
Some day I’d like to be able to visit Syria and visit the Sea of Galilee up close.
