Pirate’s Cove-Freeport, Bahamas
I went back on my favorite cruise, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. This time we had the opportunity to travel on the Grand Classica. It is a nice boat and comparable to the Grand Celebration. It felt a bit smaller and definitely had fewer venues for entertainment. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. The rooms were decent sized as well. This time, I booked by passage on Groupon for $249 for a window state room on deck seven.
We were planning to go to Outriggers, but it had been destroyed in a storm and is being rebuilt. Plans are to be reopened by November of 2018. Instead we went to Pirate’s Cove Beach Club. Just to gain access-no chair, no umbrella- we were charged 5.50 a person plus tax. Luckily we took towels from the ship and we found some shade from a tree where I put my towel for the day.
There are many activities to do at Pirates Cove (extra charge of course): zip line, banana boat, paddle boat, and jet ski are some that I recall.
There is food available. It’s decent, but over priced. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced.
Roundtrip group taxi is $14 from the ship port to Taino Beach. This is much cheaper than buying the excursion on the ship.
