Leon

One summer we spent two weeks in Mexico at a language school in Guanajuato and on the way there we had layover in Leon. We couldn’t resist walking around with our cameras. It’s quite a photogenic city.

The day we arrived Mexico won the futbol (soccer) gold medal in the Olympics. It was fun to see the celebrations in the streets.

The next day we visited a number of churches. It is one of our favorite things to do when visiting foreign countries. We are always amazed by the attendance in Mexico. All of the Masses are full.

The relief on this building was huge.

We went to the market in search of carnitas for lunch. We were not disappointed.

The day of our departure the futbol team was front page news. As it should be!

GOLD!

Leon is a frequent destination for the auto industry. Many of my colleagues have traveled through there but I’ve never been fortunate enough to be sent there on business. Not for lack fo trying, though. I’d love to go back.
