Russia – An Overview
We fulfilled one of our long held dreams this summer. We traversed the Trans Siberian Railway. We took two weeks, flew into Moscow, rode the train to Vladivostok, flew back to St. Petersburg, and returned to Moscow.
I really just wanted to get a few photos on this post, and over time I’ll write a little more about the trip. Let’s get started.
We flew Lot Airlines, which is Polish. That means their hub is in Warsaw, so we had a seven hour layover. Here are a few photos from Poland.
Next stop was Moscow.
The next day we boarded the train. The first stop was in a beautiful city called Kazan.
We left that evening for Yekaterinburg.
We spent one night in Yekaterinburg and boarded the following day for Irkusk, one of the longest legs of the journey. Irkusk is the closest stop to Lake Baikal.
The following stop was Ulan-Ude.
Our final stop was Vladivostok, 9288 KM from the start. It is seven time zones from Moscow, and our flight back to Moscow took nine hours.
We booked a flight from Moscow to St. Petersburg and spent the night.
We returned to Moscow and spent a couple more days before heading home.
These are just a taste. I took over 3000 photos and we have tons of stories. There are more to follow.
