Secret Value Hotel on the Cancun Strip
Looking for a great place to stay in Cancun that won’t break the bank? Well, look no further. I am about to reveal to you my favorite, secret, low-cost Cancun hotel.
Located within a five minute walk of the night clubs, Carlos ‘n Charlies, Coco Bongo, Señor Frog’s, and other hot spots is the Cancun Clipper Club. The Clipper is a great value for that area. Rooms usually go from $44 to $55 a night depending on the time of year.

The Clipper is a bit dated and I’m not going to lie, the beds are really firm, but for the price it can’t be beat. When compared to other hotels in the area, I’m sure you will agree it’s a deal. Below is the lowest price per night for nearby hotels compared to the Clipper for a random evening stay on February 18:

A downside to the Clipper is that it is located on the lagoon and not the ocean side. In addition, the rooms are dated, the beds are hard and Wifi is not available in the rooms.
The pluses include: price can’t be beat, within walking distance to where everyone wants to be, great swim up bar, a restaurant that serves wonderful food, free Wifi in the lobby and the restaurant. Aside from the price, my favorite detail of this hotel is Wilbur. Wilbur kept my beer cold and served me delicious guacamole at the swim up bar all day. He even went out and bought more of my favorite beer for me when I finished the last one.
If money is tight, yet you want a good time, this little gem may be just what you’re looking for.
