Making Friends
I went to Hart plaza Saturday to walk around taking photos. While I was photographing the Spirit of Detroit another photographer approached me, gave me his card, and suggested we shoot together someday.
Well, no time like the present!
It turns out my new friend Ryan diligently shoots in Detroit every Saturday and has a blog with the tag line of “See Detroit Like I Do“.
So at his prodding, we walked through downtown, to midtown, and on to Eastern Market. And back. I took tons of photos and Ryan taught me a lot about street photography. I’ve always been reluctant to shoot people, strangers. Ryan just walks up to them, asks if he can photograph them, and then he handed them his business card.
