New Riff – Craft Bourbon Tour #7
On my way to Second Sight I realized I was driving right by New Riff so I backtracked.
New Riff is a very modern, purpose built facility in a vast parking lot with a party store on one end. It’s quite unique because you can view the stills in operation from the lot.
The logo evokes images of a vibrating guitar string.
I wasn’t able to get a tour but I was directed to got to the “Riff Top Bar”.
Along the way I was able to peek behind the glass to see what was going on.
The scale of the place is at least a factor of 10 over that of Second Sight. They import rye from Germany by the pallets.
There is an outdoor balcony that affords a look over not just the parking lot but also the neighboring state.
The still is huge. I was on the third floor and it still towered over me.
I was impressed by the idea of taking the high road, even when it’s hard. It harkens back to the Cadet Prayer which says “choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong…” Very uplifting sentiment that we should all strive to follow.

New Riff was my third stamp in the Northern Region and my seventh overall. And third for the day!
