I Ran the D

We have been to many Detroit Tigers games in Comerica Park, but the allure of finishing a 5K race on the field caught my attention. It sounded like fun so I signed up. A couple days before the race we went to a game and froze in the shade.

Everybody in the sun stripped down to shorts and t-shirts while we shivered in our winter coats and airline blankets. Ah, well, that’s spring in Detroit. It was April, don’t forget.

I didn’t take any photos before the race, but I finally thought of it near the end.

The route was planned to be shaped like a D. That’s kind of a bit much.

My route did look like the promise

And all finishers were given a nice medal. Lord knows it wasn’t for my speedy performance. I can attribute some of that to waiting in the chute for my group to be released, but not all of that. I’m slow.

It was fun. I’ll probably run again.
