Weekend In Las Vegas

We spent almost two full days in Las Vegas using our Spirit miles. We left Saturday at 6AM from Detroit (waking up at 3:15 is a grueling way to start a weekend trip) and arrived around 8AM in Las Vegas. We booked the hotel using Marriott points as well and we were pleasantly surprised at the view we had from our window. It’s one of their vacation properties but no casino inside which I really liked.

Las Vegas is really two different casino experiences. We used the car to get to the traditional 1950s style area near Fremont Street.

We visited the Golden Nugget and saw the giant nugget in the lobby.

I wanted to see more of the autonomous car that drove by. The driver was clearly in control when we saw it, though.

The other area is the along the strip with all the modern casinos. We parked in the Venetian and spent the afternoon there.

The Venetian is so photogenic, especially during the magic hour. All of these were taken with my phone.

  • Wonderful article! I will be in Las Vegas on a business trip just for two days, but I will have a rented car for this, I think I’ll manage to visit all the places!
